2018 Retreat

The September 2018 retreat saw 20 Thinkers gathered from across Atlantic Canada and the USA to continue these important conversations about the climate crisis and options for communities in Atlantic Canada.  A second documentary film, based on this second Thinkers retreat, is currently in post-production. 

The First Pugwash Declaration on the Climate Crisis

“The Thinkers’ Climate Change Conference agrees that all people have the right to: live in a healthy environment; have access to clean air, water, nutritious food, and green spaces; the right to know about pollutants and contaminants used and released in their local environment; and to participate in decision-making that will affect their environment. Communities should focus on local food and energy production for adaptation and resilience in meeting basic needs.”
