CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE HUMAN PROSPECT
2017 Climate Change and the Human Prospect Retreat
Thinkers Lodge, Pugwash, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The Centre for Local Prosperity, inspired by the original 1957 Pugwash conference on nuclear disarmament, gathered a group of international and regional Thinkers to engage in intense reflection and dialogue on what is now the most serious threat facing humankind – global warming and its impacts on small rural communities. We wanted to be outrageous – to do the impossible. We emerged with bold, climate change initiatives that preserve and restore the health of local communities and ecosystems.
The 40-minute film Climate Change and the Human Prospect documents the discussion at the 60th Anniversary Thinkers Lodge Retreat, Pugwash, NS. The film is oriented towards rural communities and sets a context for both mitigation and adaptation.
